The University of Manitoba (UM) located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada is in the top 50 universities in the world because of the teaching and training quality for students and also its achievements in applied research.


 

General introduction

The University of Manitoba (UM) was founded in 1877, is the first university in Western Canada, located in the heart of Winnipeg city (700,000 residents, clean and modern city, a modern urban area). 24,000 students enrolled at the university and more than 3000 graduates, offering 80 undergraduate majors of which 51 are at Bachelor's level, 10% of the students are international students from 90 countries .

Facilities

  • The school is located in downtown Winnipeg, a clean, safe city with a moderate cost of living. This is the ideal place for international students to study and explore the beautiful country of Canada.
  • The curriculum is designed to be quite flexible with 3 admission periods per year.
  • Small classes with an average of 30 students per class and longer classes develop student's knowledge and their understanding lessons more easily.
  • Students can live and study in a wonderful environment, fully equipped such as: computer room, laboratory, library, etc., including health care and job counseling.
  • Modern facilities with full equipment from laboratories, computer rooms, integrated sports fields, medical rooms, restaurants, mini supermarkets to dormitories, bus stations, ... all are on campus. Entry Requirements

  • Graduated from grade 12 with a GPA from 7.0/10.0;
  • IELTS 6.0 - 6.5 all bands (depending on each program)
  • Specific requirements for each major (For example, Nursing requires good results in English, Math, Chemistry, Biology) 
 

Scholarships

  • Students attend directly (Direct Entry) into an education program (excluding English Language Centers) during the fall semester (September), applying by March 1, and achieving a minimum GPA from 85% of high school students can be considered for an entrance scholarship from 1,000 to 3,000 CAD.
  • Direct entry applicants who have completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma may be considered for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Entrance Scholarship with a value of 1,100 - 3,500 CAD.
  • Besides, students who are eligible for the Entrance Scholarship and also achieve excellent results in Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate exams, may receive an award supplement in addition to the entrance scholarship, which ranges from 150 to 250 USD per qualifying result.
