Flinders University
Flinders University is a public research university located in Adelaide, South Australia. Flinders is a fresh university and a member of the Group of Innovative Research Universities (IRU).
General introduction
Located in Adelaide, Flinders University was established in 1966. There are approximately 16,000 registered students with over 3,000 international students. The school also offers off-campus education in Victoria, the Northern Territory and other southern Australian cities.
Strengths and achievements
Academically, the university pioneered a multidisciplinary approach to education, [citation needed] and its medical and humanities departments have been ranked in the top 10 nationally.
The university is among the top 300 institutions in the world according to Times Higher Education rankings. The Times Higher Education 2020 rankings of the world's top universities have placed Flinders University in the 251–300 group.

Facilities
Flinders is the only South Australian university with on-campus accommodation in the Adelaide metropolitan area. There are two options including: University Hall (catering service) and Deirdre Jordan Village (self catering). For off-campus accommodation, Flinders Housing runs a free, up-to-date accommodation service that lists the private accommodations available on the rental market.
Flinders University has many sports teams that participate in social and competitive competitions. Flinders University currently has 22 affiliated sports clubs, which range from social-based sports clubs to highly competitive sports clubs, including: Aikido, Athletics , Badminton, Baseball, Basketball, Cricket, CrossFit, Soccer, Hockey, Kendo, Korfball, Lacrosse, Men's Soccer, Muay Thai, Netball, Quidditch Squash, Ultimate Frisbee, Underwater, Ball volleyball, Wing Chun and Women's Soccer.
Additionally, Flinders University students have the ability to attend the university's annual game events and compete in a variety of sports while representing the university.
