Griffith University is a public research university in Australia that is ranked in the top 2% of the world's universities. The school offers a wide range of programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

General Introduction

Griffith University was officially recognized by the Queensland government on September 30, 1971, but it was not until 1975 that it started enrolling and went into operation. Griffith University is a public research university in South East Queensland on the east coast of Australia. With nearly 50 years of teaching experience, Griffith now ranks highly with an international outlook, is deeply connected with the community, and appreciates its position.

  • Ranked #33 on the QS World University Rankings 2021: Top 50 Under 50.
  • With an overall profile that includes global programs, Griffith has seven disciplines in the Top 100, according to the Shanghai Global University Rankings by Subject 2020. In addition, the school was recognized as a research-intensive institution when the 2018 Excellence in Research for Australia Framework found that 50 of its disciplines met or surpassed international standards.

Entry Requirements

Standard English entry requirements for students who wish to pursue bachelor's, master's, and research programs at Griffith University, include:

  • Computer-based TOEFL (iBT): score 79 with no band less than 19
  • Pearson Test of English Academic: total score of 58 with no score below 50
  • IELTS: minimum 6.5 with no band score below 6.0.

Applicants for the Bachelor's degree must have completed High School, which is comparable to Grade 12 in Australia or have an equivalent academic qualification. Some courses will require applicants to meet certain prerequisites, with higher entry requirements, or to submit a portfolio, health screening, and professional work experience.

A Bachelor's degree or higher, or an equivalent degree from a recognized university, is required for students pursuing a Master's degree. To study at Griffith, students must have a minimum grade point average (GPA). In several disciplines of study, the university additionally recognizes students' previous work and study experiences.
