James Cook University Singapore (JCUS)

James Cook University Singapore (JCUS) is one of the campuses of James Cook Public University in Australia, which is ranked among the world's top 2% of universities. In 2003, James Cook University Singapore was founded as part of the main university's objective of internationalizing its operations and providing a variety of programs in Singapore.

General Introduction 

James Cook University Singapore is the only school in Singapore to be NEAS certified for English language teaching and the first to receive the Edutrust Star – the highest certification for the quality of education in Singapore. The school offers English, Foundation, Undergraduate, and Graduate programs with the same curriculum and qualifications as the main James Cook University campus in Australia. In addition, James Cook University is ranked among the top 12 universities in the world for tourism and ecotourism education.

A unique aspect of James Cook University Singapore is that it allows Singapore students to study in Australia for one semester (for Master's programs) or two semesters (for Undergraduate programs) while paying the same tuition fee, allowing students to save money. This is a unique program in Asia because we operate in both countries, helping students achieve their academic goals while also having memorable experiences.

Outstanding Program: Dual Certificate Program

Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Economics program can study 2 majors at the same time without paying additional tuition fees for 2 years.

Students studying for a Master of Information Technology or Accounting can take additional subjects to earn a double degree of Master of Information Technology and Business Administration or Accounting and Business Administration.

Students studying Tourism Management and International Services can take additional subjects to earn a dual degree of Master of Tourism Administration and Business Administration.

Cost of study

Tuition:

• Pre-university: 19,688 -20,544 SGD/course
• University: 26,000 SGD – 64,000 SGD/course
• Postgraduate: 38,520 SGD – 67,838 SGD/course

Housing cost:

• Dormitory: 100 – 212 SGD/week
• Homestay / Renting an apartment in a shared room: 88 – 125 SGD/week.
• Food costs: 50 - 65 SGD/week, depending on the needs and eating habits of each person.

Entry Requirements

Pre-university: English: IELTS equivalent to 5.5 (no skill less than 5.0)

• Pre-university: Grade 11 with a minimum GPA (GPA) of 6.0
• Advanced College Preparation: Grade 11 with a minimum GPA of 5.0

Bachelor:

• Students graduate with a high school diploma in Vietnam
• IELTS ≥ 6.0 (no band less than 6.0)

Post-Graduate:

• University graduates
• IELTS ≥ 6.5 (no band less than 6.0)

Note: Admission requirements also depend on different majors. Students with a level equivalent to 4.0 IELTS can attend JCUS to learn English, then enter the 1st year of university or graduate.

Scholarships:

James Cook University is awarding Merit scholarships to individuals with academic excellence and well-developed skills in critical and creative thinking. These scholarships are competitive and are only available to students studying at James Cook University's Singapore campus.

 The school has 3 levels of scholarships depending on the ability of the applicants. Consists of

• 100% tuition fee for one academic year
• 50% tuition fee for one academic year
• 25% tuition fee for one academic year

In which, one academic year is equivalent to a maximum of 8 subjects.
