Newcastle International College (NIC) is your perfect path to get a degree at Newcastle University. The Foundation Program (FP) leads to nearly 100 undergraduate degrees, including Medicine. The NIC Diploma program is equivalent to the first year of a bachelor's degree and Diploma graduates directly enter Year 2 of a bachelor's degree or in some cases transfer study credits.

Newcastle International College offers a Foundation program to help students transition into the University of Newcastle or NIC's Diploma program. Diploma programs are equivalent to the first year of University and have many different majors.

Newcastle International College is located on the main campus of the university in the city of Newcastle. Students have access to campus facilities, including one of the best university libraries in Australia, a state-of-the-art sports complex, housing services, employment services, and more than 60 student associations.

Programs and Courses

  • Foundation Program

The Foundation Program (FP) is an accredited foundation designed to prepare students for college. This program provides a pathway for students to apply for entry into a range of bachelor degrees offered by the University of Newcastle, as well as entry into a Newcastle International College Diploma.

NIC's University Foundation Program consists of eight courses studied over two or three terms (8-12 months).

  • College Program

The Diploma of Business and Commerce at Newcastle International College leads directly to the second year of the Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of Commerce at Newcastle University, where students can choose from specializations such as: accounting and economics, finance, international business, marketing, etc. Students can also choose to combine a Bachelor of Business or a Bachelor of Commerce with a Bachelor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

The university's established links with the local business community offer international students an excellent opportunity to experience a global education, leading to highly employable graduates.

The Diploma of Engineering program at NIC leads to year 2 of seven different streams of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at the University of Newcastle. Newcastle International College attaches great importance to hands-on teaching, research and solutions to real-world problems.

NIC's close professional and industry partnerships make it possible to gain valuable real-world experience while studying for one of the school's degrees. As a result, UON Engineering graduates have excellent employment rates and have starting salaries well above the national average (Australian Graduate Survey).

Entry Requirements

Foundation program

  • Completed grade 11 (or equivalent) with a GPA of 5.0 or higher in all subjects;
  • IELTS 5.0 (no band score below 4.5).

Foundation program of Medicine

  • Graduated from high school với with a GPA of 8.0 or higher;
  • IELTS 6.0 (no band score below 5.5)

College Program

  • Graduated from high school with a GPA of 6.0 or higher;
  • IELTS 5.5 (no band score below 5.0), và IELTS 6.0 (no band score below 5.5) for the program Fast track and Standard track.
