University of Queensland (UQ, or Queensland University]) is a public research university located primarily in Brisbane, the capital city of the Australian state of Queensland.

General Introduction

Founded in 1909, UQ is one of the oldest, most prestigious, and quality universities in Australia. UQ is one of the oldest leading universities in teaching, research in Australia. At UQ, students have a wide range of options for courses/curriculum/fields of study, with a full range of levels: Bachelor, Postgraduate, and Advanced Research. Students will be provided the opportunity to study abroad when participating in the curriculum due to the prestigious and worldwide network of UQ.

According to the world university rankings, UQ is continuously in the top 1%  of universities in the world. UQ ranks 46th in the world and 4th in Australia in the latest QS World University Rankings. UQ  is in a strong position in Natural Sciences, Medicine, Technology, Economics, Environment, Linguistics, Agriculture, and Business Administration. UQ’s MBA program is ranked first in Australia and the Asia Pacific by The  Australian Financial Review và The Economist Intelligence Unit.

Facilities

Located in the St Lucia District, southwest of Brisbane, its main campus is voted as one of the 25th greatest university campuses in the world.  In addition, UQ has campuses in Gatton and Herston and Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, USA. 

UQ developed Unisafe to raise awareness and maximize safety on campus. The program is currently licensed to other universities across Australia, including Bus Safety, Escort Service, and a network of emergency call points on St. Lucia, Ipswich, and Gatton campuses. 

Moreover, many services such as Student Support Center, Child Care Services, Medical Services, ATMs, etc. are also provided to support students.

UQ  is in a strong position in many different fields, of which the most prominent are Natural Sciences, Medicine, Technology, Economics, Environment, Linguistics, Agriculture, and Business Administration. 

UQ creates an interesting schedule of activities and events that cater to the extracurricular interests of about 50,000 students after school.  UQ’s Student Employment Center renders advice and guidance on choosing a career path and applying for work experience, internships, and employment opportunities.

This great service also hosts an annual program of career workshops and association events to connect its students with alumni and professional partners.

Scholarships

University of Queensland International Scholarships (UQI): UQI scholarships are awarded to international students with outstanding academic achievements (including those who are applying and those who are current students in UQ)  of the postgraduate program ( research form). The scholarship covers 100% of tuition and a subsidy of $26,288 ( in 2016) and is adjusted annually. 

100% Tuition MBA Scholarships for International  Students: The scholarships are awarded to international students who are applying to an accelerated full-time MBA - coursework form, as specified by the University of Queensland Business School. Students need to have the excellent academic performance to be eligible for the scholarships. There are 2 scholarships awarded annually, covering 100% of tuition fees, each scholarship is valid for 1 year.

University of Queensland Economics Scholarships for Vietnamese Students: Economics scholarships are awarded to Vietnamese students with outstanding academic achievement and extracurricular activities pursuing higher education programs such as bachelor and postgraduate ( coursework form). The scholarship can be maximized up to 100% tuition, lasting for the period of the course.
