University of Saskatchewan is one of the Canadian research universities included in top U15. Its main campus is located in Saskatoon City, Saskatchewan Province, which is famous for its poetic scenery and unique architecture.

General Introduction

University of Saskatchewan (U of S) is one of Canada's research-intensive universities. It was founded in 1907 and was the first university in Saskatchewan, Canada.

Its main campus is located in the vibrant city Saskatoon, which has been named as one of the best in Canada due to its green atmosphere, buildings and spacious walkways. International students will be provided a variety of Canadian cultural experiences with safety, affordable cost and a student-friendly environment while being in Saskatoon which is the largest city in Saskatchewan Province.  USask’s English Language Center  also provides English language programs for international students who have not met the English requirements to be eligible for the main program.

Programs and Courses

Saskatchewan possesses 13 faculties with more than 100 different majors. It is ranked highly for training in Agriculture, Toxicology, Engineering and Environmental studies. USask’s courses are taught in English with an extensive mixture of human and animal studies  implemented within campus.

Entry Requirements

USask’s entry requirements are relatively favorable for international students. Specifically, students will be directly admitted to the major they apply for, following meet criteria as below:

  • Graduated from high school with GPA at least 7.0
  • At least 6.5 IELTS with no bands below 6

Scholarships

The Postgraduate Retention Program provides income tax of up to $20.000 - the cost of living for over 7 years and paid after graduating from high school for students living in Saskatchewan

Depending on previous academic performance, students will be automatically considered for scholarships when they are accepted. Scholarships for all levels of study: Undergraduate, Master and PhD.
