Victoria University of Wellington, located in the capital of New Zealand, is one of the oldest institutions in New Zealand, with three campuses located right in the city. 

General introduction

Victoria University was established in 1897, located in the capital Wellington of New Zealand, is a public university with a history of more than 100 years. Victoria University is well known for its research and training in almost all disciplines, which has made the reputation of Victoria University stand out among Wellington's other research, training and education centers. VUW's training programs are diverse and comprehensive, students can choose from 80 different courses with modern equipment and a team of leading professors in the world.

 

Strengths and achievements

  • Victoria University is ranked first for research quality. In early April 2013, Victoria University, Wellington (VUW) was ranked first by the New Zealand Council for Higher Education and Colleges for the quality of its scientific research.
  • This assessment shows that Victoria has more than 678 research faculty, and 70% of these faculty operate at the highest level.
  • Top-rated commerce majors include Information Technology, Economics.

Facilities

Victoria University of Wellington has four main campuses (Kelburn, Karori, Te Aro, and Pipitea) in the city of Wellington. Wellington is the capital and cultural center of New Zealand. It is an ideal place to study for international students and is also one of the safest cities to live in.

Conditions/ Entry Requirements

→ Graduated from high school with good grades, with a GPA of 8.0 or higher.

  • 1 week: 381 NZ (about 234 US)
  • Duration: 8 months.
  • Conditions: IELTS 5.5 and graduated with a good grade or higher.
 

Scholarships

Tangiwai Scholarship – (Scholarship for Outstanding High School Students)

The NZD 5,000 scholarship recognizes outstanding students both in academics and extracurricular activities and is awarded to graduates from leading New Zealand high schools, including international applicants applying for a bachelor's degree at the university.
