South Korea Student Visa Policy

To apply for a student visa to Korea, a passbook/bank book of at least around 20.000 USD must be sent 3-6 months before the day of the beginning of the school term. Student visa application usually takes 28 days. However, this period may be extended if further consideration is required so you should take note of the time to keep up with the school term.

Types of student visas according to programs

  • Visa application form, passport 
  • 1 photo
  • Original acceptance letter 
  • Photocopy of Business Registration Certificate of the education institution
  • Photocopy of Identity card (bring your original one)
  • Tuberculosis Test Result Form
  • Registration Form of the person applying for the visa

Master’s Degree, Ph.D.

  • Documents proving the final level of education (original version and notarized version for certified translation)
  • Documents proving financial ability (refer below)

Research Program (must hold a master’s degree or higher)

  • Documents proving the final level of education (original version and notarized version for certified translation)
  • Documents proving financial ability
  • Certificate of Research (i.e. Certificate of Foreign Research Student)

Exchange Student of Korean and Vietnamese Universities

  • Photocopy of Agreement of Student Exchange between universities
  • The decision of Vietnamese University (original version and notarized version for certified English/Korean translation)
  • Photocopy of both sides of student card or documents verifying you are the student issued and stamped by your university (original version and notarized version for certified English/Korean translation)
  • Completed report cards in the university (original version and notarized version for certified English/Korean translation)
  • Documents proving financial ability

 Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree 

  • Diploma and report card (original version and notarized version for certified English/Korean translation). Graduates must submit bachelor's or master’s degrees along with the report card.
  • Study plan, Portfolio (be hand-written by students in English or Korean, TRANSLATED ONES ARE NOT ALLOWED)
  • Original Vietnamese profile and notarized version for certified English translation
  • Documents proving financial ability

Language Study

  • Study plan issued by Korean school (including syllabus, teacher’s profile, etc.)
  • Diploma and report card (original version and notarized version for certified English/Korean translation). Graduates must submit bachelor's or master’s degrees along with the report card.
  • Study plan, Portfolio (be hand-written by students in English or Korean, TRANSLATED ONES ARE NOT ALLOWED)
  • Original Vietnamese profile and notarized version for certified English translation
  • Documents proving financial ability

※ If the student holds a certification of graduation from a foreign high school/university, an apostille or a consular stamp from the Embassy of that country in Vietnam is required.

Short term study visa (D-2-8)
